Why? My 9 year-old Harman Kardon AVR-247 can do this just fine and it cost a lot less that the TX-NR616.
This alone is making me consider returning my Onkyo, if it can't handle basic upconversion that has been standard for many years.

Anyway... have it plugged into the composite input for the STB/DVR assignment. And can get audio.. but no video. There is no HDMI assigned or plugged into that port so as not to have conflicts.
When I go to view information on that STB/DVR screen, audio shows up, video shows unknown.
There is no screen to adjust any type of video on an N64.. but it's 480i I'm sure which should allow it to be used as an input and be output through the HDMI.
I've gone into every freaking menu / sub menu, assignment screen I can find.. but can't get it to work.
I can bypass the entire receiver and input directly into my Panasonic 54" plasma and get sound and picture.
I have managed to get everything else working fine.. network capabilities to my server, all network apps, all HDMI ports and component ports functioning properly.. but this has me stumped.
What's going on?
