I recently got my TX-NR616 and have been pretty happy with it so far. I'm running all of my components in through HDMI and running HDMI out to a projector. I'd like to be able to watch video from one HDMI source but get audio from a different source at the same time. For example, I'd like to play music from Spotify through NET while playing Xbox on the GAME input. Is this possible? Thanks!
You can watch video and listen to a different audio source by first selecting your video source and then selecting the audio you would like to listen to but note that this will only work with audio only inputs. This will not work with the net input as the net feature uses your video monitor to display program information.
Is something that was added with TX-NR626? Is this something you plan to add via a firmware update? You don't really need the HDMI video output with song and playlist info if you are controlling everything from your Android phone.
I tried to the audio input assignment and I only saw coax and optical... no 'NET'.
This would be a pretty awesome feature if you consider playing music at a party and keeping a game or movie on the TV. You see this kind of stuff at bars all the time, but they of-course have different systems for each. I want it all bundled together in my living room.
Unfortunately, then NR616/626 and our receivers are designed to always show an OSD when NET source is selected and we do not have any planned updates to go around this. We do give you the ability to play your NET source on zone 2 while the main zone is not effected.
