All of a sudden I can't get sound to Zone 2 and no sound from back speakers (5.1) on CBL/SAT. I have tried to increase the sound on Zone 2 with no change. I just added a sub woofer and ran the Audyssey 2EQ process. Help!
Hello Oldguy50, I am sorry for your issue. Have you confirmed that powered zone 2 in programming is set to YES? What sources are you trying to send to zone 2? It will only support analog and internal sources like the tuner or Net. Thank you, FM9
Well, Powered Zone 2 was programmed to "NO" so I changed it to "YES" and there is a slight change as I can just hear sound coming from the Zone 2 speakers very faintly with the volume turned up to 100. I couldn't hear any sound previously. Hopefully this narrows the issue and you have the fix for me.
That would be the problem then. The TX-NR609 does not have the ability to get an HDMI signal and bring the audio to the "Powered Zone 2" terminals. The receiver needs an analog audio "red and white rca" cable to accompany the HDMI cable connection to the back of the receiver. In your case, the cable box would need an analog audio output in which you would need to connect to an analog input on the back of the receiver.
Hello, if you are sure "Powered Zone 2" is enabled, it could be that the "Zone 2" volume is set to low. To increase "Zone 2" volume, press the "Zone 2" button and while "Zone 2" selector is blinking, raise the volume. The receiver should read "Z2 Level". Increase the volume until audio is heard.
